Work on your Japanese.
1) “これは新しいのシリーズだ。”
After 「い」形容詞 you can’t use “の” to modify a noun.
例:馬鹿馬鹿しいビデオ
In the above example “馬鹿馬鹿しい” directly modifies the noun “ビデオ”
“の” is used for noun noun combinations.
2) “大嫌いんだ”
After「な」形容詞(like 綺麗) you can not use “んだ” you must use the appropriate “なんだ” used to emphasize nouns and 「な」形容詞. “んだ” is reserved for 「い」形容詞
3) “文化が面白いだと思います”
「だ」 can not be used with 「い」形容詞. When using 「だ」調 you should simply lose the だ.
例:このウェブサイトはくだらないと思います;忌々しい。

Nooo, I don’t want to become a linux nerd. but thanks for the japanese tips - If you go around to all the posts, you’ll see that there are different levels of mistakes, depending on how much I cared about the article. This one definitely lacked proof-reading. I didn’t know #3, though, so I’ll try to do that from now on. thanks!

日本語って難しいですね。

「嫌いんだ」って書く時に確かに文法的に正しくありませんが、しゃべる時に普通に使ってもいいと思いますよ。

「なんだ」と何度も言ってみれば、自然に「んだ」になってしまいますね。

テッドさんも日本語を勉強しているそうですが、もっと積極的に訂正を提案してもらいたいですね。日本人でもよく間違えますよ。標準語だからって標準が毎日変わっていきますので、一番大事なのは意味が通じることです。
